I have just kissed my little boy good-night, my little boy who I almost aborted 10 years ago. I was 25 years old, enjoying a promising career and had only known the father for six months. My friend advised an abortion. At the time it would have been a convenient option to have the “contents of my uterus” removed.
Let me tell you, “the contents of my uterus” is a beautiful little boy who is so caring, loving and thoughtful that he deserves the world! I listen to his prayers at night and see them miraculously answered. It sends chills to my soul to think of what, not only myself, but my family and the world would be missing out on if those contents had been removed.
I praise God for not only giving me a conscience, but also for giving me the courage to not make a choice, but instead to follow the pre-destined path laid out before me.
The father of my boy is now my husband and we have been blessed with three more beautiful children. Our lives have certainly changed over the years. I recommitted my life to the Lord soon after our third baby came into the world. The Lord has blessed us immeasurably for trusting our God-given instincts and not following worldly opinion.
The Law of God on Our Hearts

Whenever a Christian presses the law of God onto an unbeliever, he or she has a wonderful advantage. The Bible says that the law of God is written on every human heart, and our consciences testify to this (Romans 2:15). This means that the commandment ‘You shall not murder’ is instinctively known to be true and good by all and sundry. That is why the God of Israel could call to account Damascus, Gaza, Tyre, Edom, Ammon, and Moab (Amos 1:1-2:3) – they did not possess the written law of Moses but their own hearts should have told them that they were doing what was wrong. I well recall a university student who accused me of emotionalism when I simply showed a photograph of a child who was 16 weeks in utero. He was vehemently defending the practice of abortion, but this meant that he was forced into denying the obvious, and he did not like it. God has spoken in His inerrant Word, and also written that word upon the hearts of all humanity. It is the pro-abortion side that will tend to dislike counselling on the issue, or anything that makes it clear that it is human life that is being taken. We have no need to be defensive. Deep down, reality shouts at us all, Christian and non-Christian alike, that abortion is indefensible.
